The Larson Electronics EPS-2XPB-SG-MS-PL Explosion Proof Momentary Push Button Stop/Start Switch is Class 1, Division 1 & 2 and Class 2, Division 1 & 2 rated for Hazardous locations and UL 698 listed. This explosion proof switch provides manual starting and stopping of small AC and DC motors. This unit comes in a dead-end configuration and with a pilot light, which is offered in the following colors: red, green, blue, amber or white.
The EPS-2XPB-SG-MS-PL Explosion Proof Stop/Start Push Button Switch is built to be heavy duty, and is offered in 120V or 240V. The switch is enclosed in a cast aluminum device box, and the device has smooth, double flanges that mate both to the cover and the mounting enclosure to provide flame tight joints. The screws consist of stainless steel hex head screws and attach the faceplate to cover and mounting enclosure. The side rocker arm push button has lockout holes, and the switches are supplied with an internal ground screw.
A pilot light at the top of the unit notifies the operator about the status of the explosion proof push button switch. Pilot light color options include the following: red, green, blue, amber or white. The EPS-2XPB-SG-MS-PL is offered in a dead-end configuration.
This unit is normally open for green and normally closed for the red. Pressing the green button holds the circuit closed (completing) to turn the connected unit on. The red holds a closed circuit, as holding the red button breaks the circuit when pressed (such as a kill switch to stop a motor). The unit features one NO and one NC contact configuration.
The EPS-2XPB-SG-MS-PL housing is made out of a malleable aluminum body with a cast copper free aluminum alloy cover, and is epoxy powder coated for a natural finish. This switch is in compliance with UL 698 and is rated for Class I Divisions 1 & 2 Groups C & D, Class I Zones 1 & 2 Groups IIA, Class II Divisions 1 & 2 Groups E, F & G, and Class III Divisions 1 & 2.
