In a ministerial statement on Tuesday (Jul 27), Education Minister Chan Chun Sing laid out the steps the ministry intends to take in order to ensure the mental wellbeing of students, ranging from having more teacher-counsellors and bringing back co-curricular activities.
His comments come after an incident at River Valley High School where a 13-year-old student was found dead and another 16-year-old student was arrested in connection with his death. Mr Chan also spoke about the role parents and society can play in caring for students.
