Loving Young Pup So Neglected She Will Never Use Hind Legs

This miracle baby is named Sploot. Sploot currently cannot move all of her limbs as she has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Swimmers Syndrome. Which is an uncommon developmental deformity of newborn dogs and cats whereby the limbs, primarily the hind limbs, are splayed laterally resulting in an inability to stand or walk.

Most of the time, this disease can be curable in pups under 6 weeks old, but in poor Sploot's case, she was neglected for so long that she's going to have to fight to get her chance of mobility back. When rescuers at Oliver And Friends Rescue And Farm Sanctuary heard about Sploot, they knew they had to help this fledging young pup or they would be haunted by her memory. When presented to rescuers, Sploot was happy and loving even though she was so flat, she could barely lift her head. Rescuers have seen cases like Sploot, but nothing this bad, they immediately rushed her to a specialist to figure out a game plan. The vet came back and had confirmed the worst for this little cutie, Sploot will never have the mobility of her hind legs, due to being neglected and left to lay in an unnatural position for so long. Luckily, she is already showing signs of being able to use her front legs! The vet said with extensive therapy, she will likely be able to use a wheelchair. Sploot has a long way to go, but rescuers have told us she's is a candidate for a sling, meaning she could play and use her front legs normally!

Currently, Sploot needs support in order to continue on her health journey. This little cutie is so filled with hope that we need to see her health journey all the way through. Sploot is in amazing care with rescuers who have assured us she is flourishing with them. The specialist wants to see if Sploot is a candidate for a few surgeries that can help her mobility, as well as getting a sling or wheelchair in order to support her hind legs and hips. Most importantly, Sploot is happy and is showing nothing but pure want to become a normal pup.

We are desperately asking for donations to go toward this precious pup's treatments and care. Sploot deserves so much better than the cards she has been dealt in this life, please find it in your heart to help this furry friend in need. Without your compassion Sploot could end up a lost cause, we cannot let this happen to this miracle puppy. Thank you in advance to every donor who has given to Sploot's cause.
