It has been difficult for me to keep up with hive management this year. When that happens things can go wrong quickly. If you get behind there is often a price to be paid. This year I have learned this lesson the hard way and have experienced significant loss. I really didn't want to do this video but felt it was important to show the "not so glamorous" side of beekeeping. It is not always a positive experience.
In this video you will see what it looks like when small hive beetles get the upper hand. It is not pretty. Viewer discretion is advised. I also share my treatment method, a technique which has worked well for me over the years. I only wish I would have addressed the issue sooner.
