I want to tell you about the five main mistakes that people usually do at the beginning of the practice because I want your practice to be flawless from the start.
My name is Dr. Krystyna Shepetiuk, and I am the founder and CEO of the Biohacking and Functional Medicine clinic, BioX Unlimited and I have helped many people to do their intermittent fasting practice.
Through my personal practice and practice with others, we figured out five common mistakes that usually break the practice, so let’s go one by one:
So number ONE is JUMPING TOO BIG – so imagine if you normally eat 3 meals per day, and today you decided to start fasting every day by eating 2 meals per day and go all out with 48 hours fast also. How do you think your body will react? I don’t think your body will like you much.
Mistake number 2 is HAVING CALORIES WHEN YOU’RE fasting, so this means no cream in your coffee no sugar in your tea because the main mechanism the intermittent fasting is using is to help you burn fat and in turn, you get a reduction of calories.
Mistake number 3 is GOING CRAZY WITH FOOD you eat during your eating window.
Mistake number four which would be the opposite EATING TOO LITTLE – you eat a bowl of soup and a small salad and that would be more like continuous starvation. When that happens, you have headaches, you push through the fasting, and you start losing hair, women lose period and other adverse effects can happen because you are increasing the level of stress on your body.
Then finally we have our fifth mistake that is having EMPTY CALORIES
