Residents of Sophiatown near Blackheath in Cape Town say they are living in deplorable conditions due to poor service delivery.
The locals say they do not have access to adequate water, electricity, proper roads and sanitation.
Local say their homes get flooded whenever there are heavy rains in winter.
With the local government elections set for the 1st of November, they say they are awaiting another round of empty promises.
The occupied the land about 20 years ago comprising of about 1200 corrugated iron shacks.
