Tottenham players arrive for training as Conte era begins | EPL | 2021/22

Tottenham Hotspur players arrived for their first training session under new head coach Antonio Conte after it was confirmed that the former Italy, Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan manager had signed a deal with the north London club until "the summer of 2023, with an option to extend."

The 52-year-old returns to England after being sacked by Chelsea in 2018 despite winning the English Premier League and English FA Cup during his first two seasons in charge.

He then took over at financially-challenged Inter Milan, who he guided to their first Italian Serie A title in 11 years before leaving the club in May.

The Italian replaces Nuno Espirito Santo, who was fired on Monday after just 17 games in charge following his fifth loss in 10 Premier League matches.

Tottenham are in ninth place in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Chelsea and five points behind fourth-placed West Ham in the pursuit of a Champions League place.

Conte's first game in charge will be Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League match at home against Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
