The 63rd Northern Angami Sports Association meet 2022 kick started today at Indira Gandhi (IG) Stadium with Advisor to CM and Vice President, Athletic Federation of India, Abu Metha as the special guest. Speaking at the inaugural function, Abu Metha urged the players to take up sports seriously and professionally. To encourage the young upcoming sportsperson the state government has also been taking a lot of initiative setting up infrastructure in the state where they can be professionally trained, he said. More than 100 players from four groups will be participating during the 5 days meet in Athletics, football, volleyball, sepak takraw, badminton, table tennis and wrestling for U-16 & Seniors disciplines. Altogether 29 villages under Northern Angami Sports Association will be participating during the ongoing meet.
