Urges officers to cultivate people friendly approach and ensure real benefits of welfare schemes launched by Government.

Bandipora, OCTOBER 31: Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, IAS, today visited various Panchayats of Sumbal Sub Division and also attended Gram Sabha alongside Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Athar Aamir Khan today visited Shilvat Panchayat Halqa at Sumbal area of bandipora district as a Visiting Officer under ongoing flagship “Back to Village-4 ” program to assess the development issues and needs of the people.

He interacted with PRIs, social activists, youth clubs and locals to take stock of their issues concerning welfare and development of their areas. He listened to the issues raised by the participants on the occasion.

Commissioner, while interacting with the people, outlined the essence of ‘Back to Village’ Programme saying that the sole motive behind launching this people friendly initiative is to ensure that not even a single person is deprived of the benefit of development schemes.
He said ,essence of B2V4 is multifaceted development in partnership with People.

District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad also joined Commissioner in the B2V4 programme at Shilvat.

Dr Owais Ahmad while interacting with public said,the fourth phase of the Back to Village program is an action packed deliverable oriented program with focus on youth, skill development and self-employment, good governance, panchayati raj, nasha mukht and rozgaar yuth J&K.

Dr Owais sought feedback from the general public on the effectiveness of welfare schemes as well developmental activities being executed in their respective areas and distributed various benefits among people.

The local people enthusiastically participated in the program and expressed their views.

Commissioner urged officer's to cultivate people friendly approach and ensure benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the government are reached to the ground with utmost exhibition of their integrity.
He also mentioned that this program is being personally monitored by Hon’ble Lt. Governor and Chief Secretary, who have directed all the departments to ensure saturation of all deliverables and ensure that all targets are met.

The Director also inspected various ongoing development projects around the area.

Earlier, he inspected the stalls set up by various departments and agencies including Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, RDD, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, handicrafts, Jal Shakti department, DIC and other departments exhibiting Centrally Sponsored Schemes and other government programmes.
He also participated in the cultural events presented by the students at government boys middle school Shilvat.
The commissioner also distributed artisan registration cards, educational assistance to the wards of Construction workers and various certificates of centrally sponsored schemes among the beneficiaries of various departments.

He took part in various activities and distributed land passbooks, E shram cards, chess and carrom kits, baby kits among others

Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad,Tehsildar Sumbal, Zeeshan Ahmad, Project Manager DIC Bandipora Mehraj Wani and block officers from various departments were also present on the occasion.
